to Rod Broome for additional information:

- "Dear Mr. Broome...
I
saw your photo of the 329th Combat Engineers Battalion Company A and
I'm pretty sure my father's cousin, 1st Lt. Robert Hessler, is in the
front row (14th from the right & directly over the two t's in the
word 'battalion'). I've attached a couple of pictures of him so
you can see for yourself. I would love to see the list that
you've developed of the names of the others in the photo. Cousin
Bob was killed in action on April 11, 1945 and we know virtually
NOTHING about his service. We very much want to find out more and
even to interview some of his buddies if possible. Any info you
have on this unit, it's history, personal contacts, etc. would be
greatly appreciated!
