"Bob:
I am ready to send a number of photos taken December 1944 through September 1945, all the people were members of the third platoon K Co. of the 415th.  Included are two pages of liberated German photos. They are interesting in that if it wasn't for the uniforms they could very well be pictures of us. You may use any or all of the pictures in your artifact site.

I found an old camera and two rolls of film in Eschweiler and took pictures 1 through 15 when conditions permitted. About February someone set up a developing lab in the rear echelon, I routed my film back wondering if I'd ever see again, especially when I was hit and in the hospital for three months. Just before we came back the states they were returned. I am deeply grateful to all those that had a part in developing and returning them to me, who ever they are.  I have mounted several photos on each of five pages, I'll send each page separately with names of people in the attached photo. The names are those we used back then, in the last message I'll list their full names as far as I can determine. I apologize to all for errors or omissions." - Ken Jorgenson

"It may be of interest that the buildings in the background of the photos taken in Merken might be called "the front". The buildings were ours but on the other side of them was only the enemy. It was just an unoccupied field and about a half mile to the Roer River. The Germans had the other side of the river." - Ken Jorgenson
